Top ten books that inspired TayTay songs

To commemorate the royal wedding of Her Royal Highness Taylor Swift to Trevis Kelce, I put together a top ten books that may have inspired TayTay’s songs. This list was created with assistance from Swiftie Extraordinaire, Azra Berberovic. @azraberberovic

  1. ‘Love Story’ – Romeo and Juliet by W. Shakespeare
Do I need to elaborate? ‘Just say yes!’

  2. ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ – Hamlet by W. Shakespeare – obvs
Re-writing the fate of Ophelia if she met the right man.

  3. ‘Mad Woman’ – The Yellow Wallpaper by C. P. Gilman
The second instalment of the story after the woman escapes the clutches of her husband.

  4. ‘Florida’ – Florida by L. Groff
Hanna Kent’s wife is a Swiftie and she says the song is based on the book, so … that’s good enough for me.

  5. ‘The Archer’ – Promising Young Women by C. O’Donoghue
For all the women who feel unloveable and trapped in a bad relationship.

  6. ‘All too Well’ – Normal People by S. Rooney
The agony of young love and miscommunication.

  7. ‘The One’ – The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
‘Roaring 20s tossing pennies in the pool’ – a love that could have been.

  8. ‘Illicit Affairs’ – Wuthering Heights by C. Bronte
    Secrecy, obsession and emotional self-destruction.

  9. ‘Safe by and Sound’ – Hunger Games by S. Collins
Taylor Swift wrote this song for the movie.

  10. ‘The Albatross’ – The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by S. T. Coleridge
Women become the albatross in TayTay’s song as they guide the ship out to safety, only then to be vilified and killed.

I’m sure many of you will disagree. Please add your own entry. What TayTay song matches a famous literary work?
